Senior Business Analyst

West Sussex

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for leading complex business analysis. The role is expected to be ‘hands-on’ and partner with Product & Engineering teams, business subject matter experts and Project Managers and should build relationships across the UK Shareholder Services division. Senior Business Analysts will support the Principal Business Analyst in leadership and team support activities, such as coaching Business Analysts, leading BA Practice development and supporting recruitment. The role will also involve supporting Agile delivery, working with Product Owners and Agile delivery teams and increasing Agile methods and improving Agile culture.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage and maintain links with stakeholders to communicate clearly, listen to and explore requirements and present advice
  • Working with Product & Engineering, Operations and the Business, lead collaboration to ensure analysis outputs are fully understood and to support decision making
  • Create and own deliverables that fit with the wider strategic focus and are easily communicated to stakeholders
  • Working within a Governance framework, ensure stakeholders are engaged and any key deliverables are met to the agreed standard
  • Act as a contact point for queries; providing expert advice and guidance
  • Lead the analysis approach across complex projects, supporting BA resource planning and the activities of other Business Analysts
  • Liaise with clients to define requirements and related processes using company utilities and techniques
  • Work with client and/or business to understand their detailed requirements
  • Support the lifecycle of requirements, through their delivery, in both Waterfall and Agile projects/workstreams
  • Undertake analysis on new projects and/or enhancements to existing projects
  • Apply relevant approaches to business analysis activities, ranging from strategic analysis, through to detailed functional and non-functional analysis
  • Lead business benefit analysis and support the creation of business cases
  • Interpret and support the implementation of a range of changes, including regulatory, digitisation, client requests and product enhancements, engaging with business and technical analysts for input and advice where necessary
  • Monitor progress against the plan, enabling projects to be delivered on time and within budget and providing progress reporting as required
  • Coach Business Analysts to establish and deliver BA capability in the organisation, acting as a role-model to establish the desired behaviours
  • Lead Business Analysis Practice development, continuously improving approaches to analysis and deliverables
  • Develop key business relationships to communicate and promote best practice across the organisation

Requirements:

  • Able to work on multiple projects and manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team of professionals
  • Experience of working in successful Agile and supporting Agile change and culture
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain credible working relationships
  • Excellent active listening skills to understand and interpret stakeholder needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of working within a regulated environment, preferably within the financial sector
  • Certification in business analysis, such as the BCS BA Diploma
  • Experience of BPMN
  • Experience of using Business Process Modelling Tools (Visio or equivalent) and a working knowledge of MS Office Suite
