Armed Forces Programme Co-ordinator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and develop the 5-year Strategic Partnership Plan for Client’s Armed Forces Covenant
  • Work with commissioned partners to launch Armed Forces Directory on the Help and Kindness website
  • Represent Client at the SW Working Group
  • Develop the 2024 Client’s Armed Forces Conference
  • Continue advocacy for the employer’s gold award
  • Develop other projects that help us to meet the actions of the 5 year plan and improves life for the Armed forces community residing in Dorset

 

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of working alongside or within the Armed Forces Community and an understanding of the unique challenges this community can face
  • A proven track record in building and developing strong working relationships
  • You will be an ambitious, results-focused individual, proficient at project management and working flexibly with a range of partners
  • A proven track record of managing engagement activity within a public sector environment
  • A proven track record of organising events such as conferences
  • Experience of facilitating individuals and groups for community-based engagement activity
  • High level ICT skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft 365, and consultation and engagement software
  • Someone who can provide ongoing involvement, support and strategic direction of the work carried out by the council and partners to deliver the 5 year plan
  • the ability to positively position themselves as a body of influence in promoting the Armed Forces community across the council area and beyond, including senior leadership team
  • An understanding of communication methods and tailoring these for difference audiences
  • The ability to champion change to raise ambitions on the Community strategy agendas for residents, communities and the workforce
  • Contribution to the delivery of responsive and equitable council services
